Roy Battersby

BATTER UP

Veteran TV director Roy Battersby has died aged 87. He became known early on for his unabashedly leftist documentaries, often depicting working class struggles. The BBC blacklisted him for his association with the Workers Revolutionary Party, but he had a fruitful second wind directing popular dramas including Between the Lines, Inspector Morse, Cracker, and A Touch of Frost. In recent years, he had become better known as Kate beckinsdale stepfather roy battersby, and indeed it was Beckinsdale who cued us in that Battersby wasn’t long for this world. He’s a quick-and-easy hit for five teams including Droller Coaster and newcomer I Know That Ain’t Who I Think It Is.
