Terry Carter boasted a pioneering career, both being one of the earliest black regulars on a US sitcom (Pvt. Sugarman on The Phil Silvers Show) and one of the first black news anchors. He was best known for dependable deputy roles whether it be in space (Colonel Tigh in Battlestar Galactica) or on the streets of New York City (Sgt. Joe Broadhurst in McCloud). Also a documentarian, he produced pieces on Duke Ellington and Katherine Dunham, and in 2015 he fended off false death rumours after Suge Knight rammed his car into a different Terry Carter. He was 95 and unique for All these moments will be lost.
