A LIFE TO REMEMBER

Scottish actor John Cairney has died aged 93. He was best known for a one-man show as Robert Burns that he debuted at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and proved so popular he took it around the world for decades. On stage he played Macbeth and Hamlet, and was in the British debut of The Crucible. On the silver screen he was noted for roles such as Phoebus in the Liz Taylor Cleopatra, a lovestruck passenger aboard the doomed Titanic in A Night to Remember, and Argonaut Hylas in Jason and the Argonauts who gets crushed to death by Harryhausen giant Talos.
