Ex US Secretary of the Interior James G. Watt is out of steam aged 85. The Reagan appointee was not a fan of the environment, clean air/water, and endangered species, but very much liked big business, oil, and coal. He also hated the Beach Boys and tried to ban them from performing at the National Mall’s Independence Day concert. Did he have second sight of them releasing “Kokomo”? He resigned after one gaffe too many, and a turn to lobbyism later led to his indictment for obstruction of justice charges. Justifying his anti-environmental bent with a “Jesus is coming back soon anyway” attitude, he’s finally agreed to do some good for Mother Earth and turned to fertiliser.
