Braxton sister Traci has died of oesophageal cancer aged 50. One of the five who comprised the Braxtons R&B group noted for catapulting Toni Braxton into 90s superstardom, Traci herself attempted a solo career in the 2010s, with her debut album Crash & Burn perhaps speaking as to how it panned out. Reality TV would prove her prime domain, with Braxton Family Values covering the escapades of the sisters and proving a smash hit. Her cancer diagnosis was kept private with few signs in the public sphere she was about to leave this world.
Then why was she a DDP pick? Theme team? No, there was a solitary reference on Twitter to her being in hospice care that was noticed by current leader David Quantick’s Showbiz Pals. The classic “picked off one tweet” gambit is not unheard of among deadpooling upper echelons, and Spade deduced that Braxton’s declining social media visibility meant the tweet was likely legit.
