TONY BURIED

Another one for the recent pile of billionaire deaths comes via natural causes rather than in a flimsy submarine propelled by a video game controller. Tony Murray had a keener sense of self-preservation than that – rather than face certain death as a Jew in Vichy France, he hightailed to Britain in 1940. He enlisted in the RAF, participated in D-Day, and was awarded the Legion of Honour. After WWII, he made his billions primarily through two enterprises – heating/air conditioning company Andrews Sykes Group and fire protection business London Security. The first centenarian to make the Sunday Times Rich List, his death aged 103 provides security for Time’s-up Team and Old As Dirt.
