LIN’S BINNED
Chicago DJ Lin Brehmer has spun his last disc aged 68. Active in radio since the 70s, he began his career in Albany as “the Reverend of Rock ‘n’ Roll” but it was in the Windy City where he became a fixture, hosting WXRT programmes since 1991. He was noted for jokingly calling himself “your best friend in the whole world”, his friendliness with fans, and his Lin’s Bin essay segment. Each of his programmes ended with “It’s great to be alive.” So much for that. He had announced last year that a prostate cancer diagnosis would curtail his airtime and now Wormer, he’s a dead man! niedermier dead! marmalard dead! takes the mic.
