HAGEDORN AND DUSTED
Until the death aged 59 of incumbent Representative Jim Hagedorn a few days ago, you would have to go back to early 1958 to be in a time where the then-seat holder of Minnesota’s 1st Congressional District has since died. Hagedorn first won election in 2018, a rare Republican House flip amidst the year’s blue wave. His widow eulogised him by saying that “there was no stronger conservative in the state”, which naturally meant he ran a blog in the aughts full of birther jokes and refused to certify the 2020 election. Hagedorn had kidney cancer for several years, and delivers for four teams, including joker points for Dead as a Doornail 2.
