THE BEAT NO LONGER GOES ON
No turning back time for Cher’s mum Georgia Holt, aged 96. She declared “I Got You Babe” in 1946 when giving birth to her iconic daughter. Holt herself navigated through the Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves world of entertainment, recording music and appearing on TV shows before her daughter was even famous, and in her later years she made many a morning show appearance flanked at Cher’s side. In Holt’s final days Cher was pleading “Baby Don’t Go” but it was futile as a Dark Lady walked into the room. Bang bang… the Reaper shot her down. The only one to Believe she would be a hit this year was Huddled Masses.
