Tom Pendry

TOM ENDRY

Longtime Labour MP Tom Pendry has died aged 88. As MP for Stalybridge and Hyde, he became known for his distinctive bright shirts and a love of sport, particularly football and boxing. He had hoped this passion would secure him the sports ministry when Tony Blair swept Labour back into power, only for the 63-year-old Pendry to be passed on due to age. As a consolation prize, he sat in the House of Lords for the rest of his years. The sporting overtures of his career took him to the DDP, as a pick for sports outfit THE FINAL WHISTLE.
