Ruschell Boone was a Jamacian-born, NYC-based newcaster, who was popular in the Big Apple for her coverage of the local immigrant community and events like Hurricane Sandy, the George Floyd protests, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s upset primary victory. She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2022, but despite her high point potential (she was 48), an obit riskiness combined with her cancer being caught early enough for surgery hindered DDP potential. Never discount pancan roaring back (it did) and never discount the tabloids covering somewhat notable figures dying young (they did). The Award for Best Original Decomposition goes to… and The Master of Unlocking can boast a well-played gamble after not having much luck with their teams up to this point.
