YIELD MARSHAL
One of the instances of broadsheet-catnip military spunk that the DDP always gets a few of each year, Peter Inge, Baron Inge has died aged 86. He participated in the Malayan Emergency early in his career, then rose through the ranks in the four subsequent decades to reach field marshal. In the 90s, he served as Chief of the General Staff and Defence Staff, where he advised the government on the Bosnian War. After retiring in 1997, he was made a peer and later participated in the Butler Review committee that shockingly concluded that the intelligence used to justify the War in Iraq was flawed. He was a unique pick for Diet Of Worms, who was in fact the first to select Inge since 2002!
