DDP 2021

Salmon Mousse made DDP history as the first rookie winner of the DDP in well over a decade. It was an atypical deadpooling year with several big canon names surviving, so his differentials proved extra crucial. The year that began with the deaths of terminally-ill US athletes and ended with anti-apartheid hero Desmond Tutu and America’s grandma Betty White also saw Prince Philip gaffe his last.

Many teams tried to put up their Dukes against Salmon Mousse to nil success…

Despite being a less iconic year for celeb deaths than 2020 it was still packed with hits, finishing a hair away from the hits record. Among the hits were White’s fellow MTM remnants Ed Asner, Cloris Leachman, and Gavin MacLeod, non-MTM actors Christopher Plummer, Cicely Tyson, Ned Beatty, and Olympia Dukakis, musicians Charlie Watts, Don Everly, Mikis Theodorakis, and Sarah Harding, theatre giant Stephen Sondheim, footballers Jimmy Greaves, Ian St John, Roger Hunt, and Gerd Muller, F1 figures Murray Walker and Frank Williams, former South African president F. W. de Klerk, Apollo 11 astronaut Michael Collins, Bob Dole fan Bob Dole, and weird COVID-era phenomenon Captain Tom Moore…

Did I just say phenomenon (doo doo doo doo doo)? That reminds me Carlos Menem died too…
