Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi

Despite what comedy leader of the free world Donald Trump may have said, Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi probably didn’t die cowering from a cute dog like some gritty reboot of Air Bud. But he is dead, and he probably won’t be missed by too many of us. Iraq-born (his nom de guerre literally means “The One from Baghdad”), Baghdadi failed his medical exam to join Saddam’s army during the first Gulf War, but was radicalized by the presence of American troops regardless. During the Dubbya reboot of the Gulf War, he was arrested as a civilian and imprisoned at the notorious Camp Bucca, which served as an effective “finishing school” for the future leaders of Isis.

The rest of his life is public record: founding Isis, breaking ranks with Al-Qaeda, expanding into Syria and being responsible for one of the bloodiest, yet most successful terrorist endeavours in recorded history. He had been rumoured dead a number of times, however this time out both US and Isis news sources confirmed his carking – a big reward for those who kept the faith. Most notable among those is Carkers Convention 2019, who shoots up to second in the table and fuels faint hopes of a close ending to the DDP calendar year…
