ROCK A DOODLE DOOM

Singer Linda Lewis has shoop shooped off aged 72. Linda Fredericks dabbled in both acting (she was an extra in A Taste of Honey and A Hard Day’s Night) and singing; the latter ultimately won out and John Lee Hooker’s endorsement took her to a recording career. She took the stage surname Lewis in homage to “Hello Stranger” soulstress Barbara, and left her imprint on the UK Charts with “Rock-a-Doodle-Doo” and a discofied cover of “It’s in His Kiss”. The hits dried up but she kept active as a backing vocalist for David Bowie, Rod Stewart, Cat Sevens, and many others. That 70’s Mixtape gets another hit on the board (that’s where it is).
