HASSELL OBIT
Composer Jon Hassell has died aged 84. The trumpet player was fond of Fourth World music, which merged several different styles into a “futuristic” sound. He worked with David Slyvain, the Talking Heads and Peter Gabriel. He was a unique pick for The B-team, which is, err, the B-team for reigning champions and current DDP co-hosts, Reptile AKA The Love Boat. Unfortunately for him, his picks, while fascinating often come when I have little to say about them! Sorry!
