NICHOLL SPENT
Footballer Chris Nicholl has died aged 77. He was a club favourite during his runs with Aston Villa and Southampton, and played in all five of Northern Ireland’s matches during the 1982 World Cup. He later managed Southampton and Walsall. One of the sadly ballooning ranks of dementia-addled footballers, he was picked by Going Green and Waiting for Ugo.
