Albert Worden

FALCON SINKS

Alfred Worden, who has died aged 88, was the pilot of the Apollo 15 lunar mission, and one of only twenty-four men in history to have flown to the moon. Despite it being the habit of Apollo 15 crews to take things to the moon to increase their value, Worden was rewarded for his efforts by being one of the only people ever punished for this, with a number of collectable stamps taken on board Apollo 15 given as the reason. He had been living at an assisted living facility in Texas.
