The Middle East continues to go up in flames, but at least one of our four hits this week is likely in a far hotter place now:

Crime

Just a few months on from the equally reviled Ian Watkins getting a prison shanking, Ian Huntley has followed him down below after getting his head caved in by a fellow prisoner. Huntley was serving a life sentence for the 2003 Soham murders, managing to dodge a whole life tariff only due to legislation changes taking place the day after his conviction. He ended his days a marked man in the notorious “Monster Mansion” HMP Frankland, and after years of lucky escapes finally scores for four teams. Criminal themed Evil Piles of Dog Excrement benefit the most, with joker and UD bonuses combining to rocket them into 6th place.

Music

Len Garry was part of the first lineup of the proto-Beatles group The Quarrymen in the 1950’s, playing with them in 1957 and 1958 before a serious meningitis infection forced him to step down. The surviving non-Beatles reformed the group in the 1990’s and Garry went on to record three albums with them.

Sport

Two American sports stars for me to not have a clue what to write about this week. First to go was Lou Holtz, a unique hit for the team Big Man. Holtz was a renowned college football coach who retired with a final record of 249-132-7, a perfect 12-0 campaign in the Fiesta Bowl with Notre Dame, and was the only man to lead six different college teams into bowl games. Oh, and a Presidential Medal of Freedom for being a big fan of Donald Trump.

Our final hit was former Chicago Blackhawk centre, and later colour analyst Troy Murray. He spent fifteen years playing for the NHL club before joining their studio analyst team post-retirement. The end of his five year cancer battle scores eight points for five teams, with 2018 silver medalist Ethnic Cleansing among them.
