CARRIE DANN, CARRIE DANN SCAREY OLD SPOOKY NAN

Lands rights activist Carrie Dann has died aged 88. The Western Shoshone elder, along with her sister Mary, fought for the rights of indigenous peoples in land, and their fight reached the US Supreme Court as US v Dann. They were offered millions in compensation but turned it down, wanting the land back. She was a unique pick for Alternative in Death.
