Assem Allam

ALL IN WITH ALLAM

Former Hull City owner Assem Allam has died aged 83. The Egyptian-born businessman took control of the Tigers in 2010, when they were on precarious second tier grounds. Under his ownership the team’s fortunes turned around with a return to the Premier League, but his standing fell with the fans in the aftermath of his unsuccessful attempt to change the Hull City name to Hull City Tigers. He had been suffering from an unspecified cancer for years, and Living in a Box stands alone in catching this tiger by the tail (as a joker to boot).
