Vasili Kulkov

NO BOYCOTTING DEATH

Former Russian international Vasili Kulkov has died aged 54, after a battle with cancer. A dogged defender, Kulkov won league titles with Spartak Moscow, Benfica and Porto. He missed out on showcasing his talents at the 1994 World Cup finals as half the Russian team boycotted the tournament over the Federations choice of managers. This lead to him winding up at Millwall for 6 months, a fact which may have helped him get his Qualifying Obit. As Kulkov was injured for Euro 1992 and 1996, and Russia managed to miss out to Bulgaria in qualifying for the 1998 World Cup, he never made it to a major finals. With covid producing the final touches, Kulkov would have been a fine unique pick for Etushi. Only the B-team for some team called Pan Breed snapped up the snuffed out footballer too. Who are they?
