Phil Spector

PHIL NOW A SPECTOR

Music pioneer turned convicted murderer Phil Spector has died in prison aged 81. As creator of the Wall of Sound approach to record production, which revolutionised sound and led to him working with the hottest acts of the time from Dylan to the Beatles. He was also fond of eccentric behaviour, which is how the 1970s described threatening musicians with a loaded gun. The warning signs were ignored until he murdered actress Lana Clarkson in 2003, and was sentenced to life imprisonment. From Harrison to the Righteous Brothers to the Grammies and the RnR Hall of Fame, there was no deny Phil Spectors influence on the music business. There was also no denying he was a cunt. He was picked by seven teams, including Deadies 8, From Here to Eternity and For Whom the Bell Tolls. Yeah, that’s my favourite Metallica song too. Ahem.
