Oliver Harrison

Jamaica-born but Manchester-raised, Oliver Harrison’s in-ring boxing career wasn’t much to write home about (6-4-0 as a super-lightweight), but he had significantly more impact as a trainer. His highest profile charge was Amir Khan, and he took the Bradford-born Olympian from a fresh-faced Olympic graduate to an 18-0-0 WBO intercontinental champion. The pair’s working relationship ended as Harrison was concerned about Khan’s social engagements. Khan promptly got KTFO in his next fight by an unfancied Breidis Prescott and then spiralled into a decade of being cuckolded and appearing on reality TV. Harrison had more responsible charges in the form of legit headliners Rocky Fielding and Martin Murray. He had stepped back from training in the past 18 months as his cancer caught up with him and he’s not going to make it to the bell for this round, giving one team a unique hit.
