Lionel Blair

TAPPED OUT

Entertainer Lionel Blair has died aged 92. Blair was an ever-present on UK TV, as actor, presenter, tap dancer and celebrity. He was a team captain on Give Us A Clue, and made his stage debut in 1947 in Who Killed Agatha Christie, which was some thirty years before the great author actually died. He also appeared in A Hard Days Night opposite The Beatles A busy theatre performer, for most of the last 30 years he was known as Lionel Blair, that famous man off the TV. When he was 80, he saved a man who fell off the pier in Blackpool from drowning.  In recent years he made Celebrity Big Brother and The Real Marigold Hotel, and is surprisingly, despite the best efforts of Miriam Margolyes, the first cast member from the latter reality TV show to die.  Lionel Blair was picked by 10 teams, including Abracadaver, Coffin Fit, Hunting Halos and Shot in the Dark. This continues Deathrays streak of getting at least one hit off his eclectic side which is apparently picked from the first 20 celebs he thinks of.
