CHRIS IN A HOLE, MAN

NFL Hall of Famer Chris Doleman has died aged 58 after a long battle with the dreaded glioblastoma. He lasted 24 months with the condition, a rarity.  Doleman spent the vast majority of his career with the Minnesota Vikings, before stints at the 49ers and the Falcons during the mid-90s.  A defensive end, he made the Pro Bowl 8 times in his career, and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2012. He made 150 career sacks too, apparently, I hope they were full of money. The 49ers play in the Super Ball final (ahem) this Sunday so you can watch out for any tributes to Drop 40 colleagues.

The 28th most popular pick on DDP 2020, Doleman is the third member of the Drop 40 to die this year. And it’s still only January. So lots of teams got points.

In fact, the highest ranked team currently not to feature Chris Doleman is former leaders You Might Be a King or a Little Street Sweeper in 13th place. Joker points (24 points, not to be sniffed at) were gained by contenders Day in the Death, Heading Nowhere and champions Thomas Jefferson Survives. All 3 of the DDP Cmme scored. Who they? DDP veterans like Deceased Hose, The Misers, and Sovereign-Reaper. Strong teams like Bleaching the Bottom of the Barrel, DDP Tofoa, Drollercoaster and The Skinny Kiltrunner also scored points. As did David Quantick’s Showbiz Pals. Be wary, he’s back…

At the complete wrong idea of the table, The Living End sits in 140th place, unheard of in DDP history. Be afraid, he’s giving everyone a head start to lower their guards…
